How to bust the email feedback loop

There’s a wasteful process happening with emails today: the feedback loop.

It sucks up time, energy, and slows down precious momentum toward execution.

Teams know it well:

  • • You draft a message to send on behalf of your boss
  • • You need their input to make sure it has the appropriate context, so you copy the email text into a separate email
  • • You then email them the email text to get their feedback
  • • They email you feedback on the email text
  • • You incorporate their feedback, email it back
  • • They copy & paste the text into a separate email and send

If you’re lucky, the feedback loop happens once. For most communications, it can go on for several threads before the content is ready.

No one has the time for this endless loop and sending an email to get feedback on an email is inefficient at best.

Luckily, there’s a better way.

Google doc-style collaboration for email

Instead of writing an email to get feedback on your email, use Cabal to collaborate with your team:

  • • Draft a message
  • • Tag the reviewer in to collaborate on the content asynchronously
  • • Send directly from Cabal (straight to the recipient’s inbox)

The time it takes for you to tee up a note, for your team to review it, edit the content slightly and send, is compressed. Your inbox—and your collaborators—will thank you.

Other ways to bust the feedback loop with collaborative email in Cabal:

  • • Announcing a new product feature
  • • Asking for feedback from users
  • • Drafting a warm intro
  • • Drafting a cold intro
  • • Your monthly investor update
  • • Closing a sales prospect
